How long do you have to be in the Fandom to be considered a "Journeyman"?  Because I have heard the term used in several Masquerade videos on YouTube. Just wondering. :)

subject header for new_furs ? (wikifur)

I was about to add new_furs to http://furry.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_furry_LiveJournal_communities ..
but I wondered what section and subject header to put new_furs into.

Example: If new_furs was placed in Traits section (which includes Greymuzzle), the listing would look something like:
== Traits ==
* (subject-header-here) : new_furs - New Furs

How much do you spend???

On avarage, how much do you spend on 3 and 4 day cons, and that is including everything? Just a rough estimate, give or take. Thanks.

Hey guys! I have an auction up that may very well be of interest to this community, especially if you are just starting out in the fandom.
If you're having trouble picking a character, I can help! My auction is for a character design consultation (meaning we'll figure together out what kind of character to make you), a character sheet (with 3 body views and up to three detail shots), a conbadge with your character and name on it, and three icons suitable for use on LJ, forums, whatever. :)

Check it out if you want!

*pops out of a side door* Hi Hi everyone!! *waves frantically* I want to open up the annual apple-picking meet to everyone. To all you new local furs, come play with us!!

Saturday will be jam packed with activities. I highly suggest meeting up at the orchard since last time it was not fun leading an 8 car train with poor phone signal coverage. The orchard info is all here: http://www.maskers.com
Admission is FREE, Parking is FREE, Bags are provided FREE, and best of all, eat all the apples you wish while visiting our orchard-FREE!
If you wanna buy the apples it’s: $18.25 per 1/2 bushel bag (approximately 20 pounds)!

For those that need to carpool we will meet up at my house between 11 and 12. We will be leaving promptly at noon, so don’t be late because we are not waiting. I’ll leave copies of the directions on my door for those that are running late. If there are a lot of cars like last time we will drive up like a funeral and really ring in the Halloween Fall spirit with yields flashing all the way!

After we grab some eats we will be heading over to the drive-in around 7:30. The drive-in info is all here: http://webusers.warwick.net/~u1006131/driveinmovie/playing.htm
Admission price is $7.50 for a double feature.

Oct. 6th
11:00-12:00 Gather at my house and organize who’s driving.
12:00-1:30 Drive up to the Apple Farm.
1:30-5:00 Pick apples, hang upside down from trees, eat pie, and smile!
5:00-7:30 Find food! Maybe we can hit up that same little burger joint we descended on last time. (We pass it on the way to the orchard.)
7:30-8:00 Go to the Drive-In Theater and watch movies, have popcorn fights, fog up some windows, and chill like it’s 1955!
~11:00-?? Drive home to fall down and dream happy appley dreams.

If you want to carpool from my house email me at:
LapisTigra at optonline dot net
For folks using public transportation there is a train stop only a few blocks from my house.

45 Ball Road
Warwick, NY 10990

Drive-In Theater:
9 Warwick Turnpike
Warwick, NY

Phone Signal coverage is almost nil. Last time very very few people had even 1 bar of signal. I do not get coverage, yay T-Mobile, so buddy up, and if you get separated, bring copies of directions so you can meet back up with us.

Remember, this is a public event so be sure to have some awareness of those around you, and the proper level of decorum. There will be families and children at the orchard and they deserve to have fun too.

The drive-in has it’s own etiquette as follows:
-Always dim your lights before entering the lot.
-Don't litter.
-Place your speaker back on the pole.
-Trucks & vans: please be considerate and park in the rear of the lot or at the ends of rows, as directed by the theater staff. Otherwise, patrons in automobiles may not be able to see over your roof.
-Keep your foot off the brake pedal when parked.
-Buy your snacks from the refreshment stand. Theaters make little money on the admission cost because a large percentage has to be returned to the film distributors. The drive-in's main source of income is its concession sales. Keep your drive-in in business; visit the snack bar often!
-Enjoy the outdoor experience! There's nothing better than watching movies under the stars!

If you carpool with someone, give em a bit for the gas $, share the love.

Built Husky Tough!

Last BBQ for the summer at Tony Ringtail's place and like the first time Shortwave decides to pull something dog sled style! Unlike before where he pulled a 3300 lb 80's Benz turbo diesel he decides he's gonna pull a heavy duty pickup truck with a trailer full of furries hitched to it! And like the last time I captured it on video with my 2.0 mega pixel camera phone (moto rizr) and put it up on YouTube for your enjoyment.

For those of you who haven't seen the first one here's The German Dog SledRead more...Collapse )
